  • Meri Fatin

    CONVENOR

    A chance opportunity to bring the chief architect of the Paris Climate Agreement, Christiana Figueres to Perth in March 2020 changed Meri Fatin’s life. Later that year she was guest curator of the TEDxPerth COUNTDOWN: WA Climate Leadership Summit which led her to starting WA Climate Leaders, driving a vision to inspire bold WA leadership on climate action in this critical decade. A graduate of WAAPA, Meri is an interviewer, facilitator and podcaster with a background in radio production.

  • Aimee Smith

    BOARD MEMBER

    Aimee is passionate about designing the transition to net zero with community, business and government. Right now she is doing just that, working on the decarbonisation of the Margaret River Augusta Shire through an industry-led PhD. A policy adviser, researcher and campaigner, specialising in sustainability and climate change. In her previous life Aimee was also an award winning choreographer and dance artist.

    After Amy's netball career was ended by a heat stroke, the climate crisis became her main focus. She moved into an advisory position supporting global companies on both physical climate risks and optimum decarbonisation pathways.

    in her academic research, Amy had the privilege to learn from Wudjari Noongar senior officials and elders and the Tjaltjraak rangers looking at the intersection between fire management techniques, catastrophic fire risk and the changing climate.

    She has supported FrontRunners, EcoAthletes and Sports Environment Alliance to help athletes use their voices to combat the climate crisis.

    Luke is an environment communicator and creative who is dedicated to working with Traditional Owners and communities to tell their stories.

    He has a passion for documentary filmmaking and has spent the last decade campaigning for climate action and conservation initiatives in Western Australia.

    Today, Luke works with the Indigenous Desert Alliance, a network of Indigenous ranger programs working collaboratively to secure the future health of the Australian desert and its people.
